Default Question: How come the price for automatic transmission is different for certain GT models?

I was looking at two different Mustang GT models at the dealership the other day. A black and a red.

The price for the 5 speed automatic transmissionon the black model is:

5-SPEED AUTO TRANSMISSION
995

While the price for the red model is:

5-SPEED AUTO TRANSMISSION
645

Anytime I do an internet build, the price for automatic transmission is always $645.
I only see $995 when I am trying to build a V6 model.

I am really confused. The reason why I ask is that I don't want be ripped off by the dealer.

Wasn't there a price change for the automatic transmission? Are you looking at two different model years?

No. Both are the same year.

Maybe there is an error on one of the stickers.

I thought so too. I checked other dealerships and I noticed if you are buying a black or a silver GT, the price for the automatic transmission on the window sticker is $995. Any other color like a white or red, the price is $645.

supply and demand.... those colors are in higher demand, so they'll find a way to charge more to make more money on those cars.... if you hadn't noticed ford is in a bit of financial trouble these days.

Well, I know Ford has its setbacks since most Americans are buying foreign cars instead of American models.

I guess you are right about the black and silver GT models.
