Default Radar detecor

Ok so I am having my Saleen SC installed this week and I already drive too fast too often, and was wondering who is using what as far as a radar detecor is concerned.

I agree with the others. I have a Passport now, but if I were to get a new one I'd get a Valentine 1. I like the fact that it tells you where the radar is.

where are your passports mounted? windshield or do you have them on the dash? i kinda want a Valentine 1 just so that i can get the remotw display and mount it right below my gauge cluster on the steering column so that i won't have cops gunning for me because they see i have a detector or have people riding my butt to mooch off of my detector. any of you guys have this problem? am i being paranoid? is worth paying 2x as much to fix?

Here is some pics of my passport 8500 X50... I have the cord running down the dash and it never gets in the way. I also have the mute button on the power cord right where is connects to the socket. I don't have to reach all the way up to the radar detector to mute an alarm, so its convenient.

Thanks for all good info I will check out the passport 8500 and valentine1. Any more input would be great. I will mount the detector on the windshield.
