i just received my C&L street cai and sct tuner w/ 3 tunes from Brenspeed. Very excited. But, I was never given the option to select the tunes I want. is this standard from brenspeed? i was under the impression I was going to be able to select the tunes I wanted and they would load them up and ship it out (the sct plastic container was opened, so i think something was loaded). if this is the norm, what tunes usually ship with the unit? thanks!

I know with me they emailed and asked for my processor code, and octane grades in my area - it was for a Steeda CAI and SCT - perhaps they emailed and never heard back? Thier email got spamfiltered?

If you're really concerned, you can give then a ring, if they need to make corrections they can email them to you and you can upload those new tunes into the SCT..

I talked to them briefly regarding octane levels and processor code (06+ only) and they sent it. It was already loaded on the tuner, so plug it into your car (follow instructions) and see if you can find the octane level tunes.

likewise I was asked for mods, year, processor, code and octane choices. My only issue was that I'd asked for 87, 89 and 93 octane tunes and what i received on the handheld programmer was 87, 91 & 93 (91 octane doesn't even exist in my area) so i'd recommend you call them before they ship. Technically these guys appear to be great(customer service also) but their 'order administration' could be improved.

yeah, i received the email about processor code and current mods. i replied to that and asked in that email how i would choose tunes. then i heard back from seth and he just said "thanks." and next thing i know its on my doorstep. never got to select the tunes. i emailed them earlier so hopefully they get back to me to let me know. thanks guys!


edit: here is the email communications i had. let me know if maybe i mis-read something or didn't see where i needed to select the tunes.

Brendspeed just has 1 tune and use that with different octanes.....you can ask for a 92 oct if you want but its not like B ama where you have performance, Torq or Rac to choose from.

oh, and i have to change the gear ratio using the sct tuner right?

Yes I think you will.... i did not have my gears when i ordered my tunes so i have to change that when i load them.....he might include that in your tune automatically though so I would find out for sure.

I have the brenspeed/sct. I just told them what the car had, the computer code and that I wanted an 87,91 and 93 tune.
Got it about a week later and no problems.
