Soy based foam seats in the 2008 Mustang
I read today that Ford and Lear have developed foam seat cushions that are 40% soy based and 60% petroleum based. This is a first in the industry and they will appear for the first time in the 2008 Mustang. I'm thinking of trading in my '05 for an '08, but soy in the seat foam concerns me because of rodents being attracted to the soy. I say this because of the absolute hell Honda Pilot owners have been going through with rodents chewing up their engine knock sensor wires because there is a soy based coating on them.
Anyone have any thoughts on whether or not this is a legitimate concern?

gee, I guess the possibility that mice might somehow sneak into the new Mustang, chew through the leather and munch out on soy-based seat cushions is enough of a reason for us to keep using oil and toxic chemicals to make the old seat cushions!

If you have mice on the interior of your car then you have other problems.
My car is currently in storage, mothballs underneath all 4 tires and a car covershould keep anything rediculous happening while in storage. And if you drive the car every day I dont see mice getting inside anyway.

Some people worry about the strangest things... Seriously, though, if you were really worried about it there are electronic gizmos which you can plug in near your car to keep the furry critters away...such as....

...although it is not actually proven these things work!
