My 07 just had the rubber...no felt material. I added the Moleskin and got my windows tinted. No scratches at all. I would suggest removing the factory felt on your 08 and adding the softer moleskin..since you already ordered it. Tacobill has a nice write up about this, very easy mod.

 

well, one side has always had a felt type material, the outside rubber track, however the one on the inside is just rubber/ hence the need for moleskin there
