**Help Guys!** IS THIS A FAIR PRICE??????
Ok dudes, check this out. I stopped by a locan shop yesterday to see how much is would cost to upgrade my 07 gt. The guy tells me 1700 for x-pipe with MBRP alex backs, steeda CAI with Diablo Preditor tune, and hurst STS. I think the price was also including install. What do you guys think? Is this fair. He said 1400 without the STS, and he said is costs over 300 bucks. That doesnt sound right to me, its only like 180 online. Let me know what you guys think, thanks.

price is always going to be more from a shop...but on the other hand if he puts it all on and something goes wrong he should fix it. I order all my stuff online and do the installs my self but I have a shop and lifts that I can use so it is easy. it all depends on how you feel about doing installs yourself.

Hurst STS $190 (Brenspeed)
CAI and tune, jlt2 $555 (Brenspeed)
Alex back (Ex girlfriend?) Priceless
Axle back, mbrp$300I think slps looks nicer :/
X-pipe, mac stainless retain stock cats $210 maybe $60 to have installed
Those parts are all pretty easy to install yourself, dont need anything but wrenches for any of it, except the x pipe you would need to weld in.
So, your paying about $375 to have something done that you could do yourself in about 4-8 hours and get the pride of "having done it yourself". And you would get to learn a little about your car. None of these things you should be afraid of doing yourself either, many non-experienced people on these boards have done these jobs with little issue.
Go spend the $350 on a decent set of hand tools, $25 onbeer, and do it yourself... You may fall in love!
I would just do it myself if I was you.
Wait, nix the beer, your gonna want to drive that thing for hours when your done... $375 on hand tools!

i would buy the stuff on the net and install the shifter and mufflers your self, and the CAI/tune.....maybe reconsider what type of midepipe you want because several of them are direct bolt ons and can be done your self also.

I personally would not take it to someone and do the install yourself but thats just me and i like working on my own car and getting the experience of taking it apart and back together again, not to mention it makes me feel proud i did it myself when people ask where i got it done at. Overall dosen't seem that bad of a price.

Use the online vendors and DIY!
I gave the example of Brenspeed because from my experience his customer experience is the best. His tunes are known for the quality, and there is no reason you couldnt get all your parts bolt on from this site!
I did have one minor change to suggest to your list though, and that would be to change the MBRP axle backs to the pypes mid-muffler system, especially if you are bent on using the X-pipe... Its only a little more and you will get a much more livable tone out of it! And if you want it louder, you can always replace the mid section with your stock mid section and have basically the same thing as the MBRP set-up.
