Good job!!! Pin location is right on. How did you locate where to drill the hood? I'm thinking about pins but install questions persist. I think its just "DRILL A HOLE IN MY HOOD" jitters.
How did you do it? Thanks

You put grease on top of the hood pins after you install them, then close the hood on top of them. The grease will transfere itself to the underside of the hood. That's where you will drill... The hole can be a little bigger an off a little. The plates are what matter and will cover up a little mistake.

Pep boys kit...$12.99 and the lanyard kit...$4.99. I think the company was called Spectre or something like that...

For the price, I was surprised about how quality they were...everything is stainless and finished very well.

And when you drill through the hood, YOU MUST DRILL FROM THE BOTTOM UP!

I initially wanted the pins to be a little closer in...but I didnt want to drop the bumper or fabricate brackets. I like where they are now, especially with the scoop...without the scoop, I dont think I would like the location.

I helped a friend do it and we put a little wahshable paint on the top of the pins and then closed the lid - it gave a perfect mark of where to drill.

wow man, this is precisely the way i did it. same kit, same location, same method. one question. i used the same kit as you, and when i mounted the pins on the radiator support they were too short for the hood so i had to weld my nuts to the support in order to give the pins height. how the hell did you get yours to poke out far enough???

btw, you're gonna find that the lanyards flopping in the wind will become a real pain. have fun constantly adjusting, lol!

He mounted them in a different spot than you did. But I was curious to get underside shots of yours. I like the location of yours a little better.
