Stock offset is 45mm, so the closer to that the better.

ORIGINAL: Revlefty

Yeah, 45 on the OE 17x8, believe it's 50 on the 8.5's. Try to get at least the 45, 50 if you can(particulary on the 9.5) ...though you won't notive diff in 45 and 50 anyway. The more the better on the 9.5's. Test fit rims before mouting tires (mount them you own them).

On the aftermarket it looks like 40mm is the common off set. I`ve also seen a lot of 24mm offset wheels, but I think they stick out too far. I`m gonna put 18" x 9" Razors on my GT and I`m going with the 40mm offset front and back with 255/45/18 tires.

Front and back will both stick outward in the fenderwellmore thanOE by 1" with those offsets. Should look even front to back; if you like the look of the rims/tires outward more than OE than you'll like this. I prefer the rims/tires more inside like OE but I also cannot afford to have dirt kicking up onthe front fender with the custom paint. If your's is a daily driver, you will get some chipping/"sand blasting" behind rear tires with this but that area can be prof touched up every couple years pretty inexpensively. You should be fine; just mount a fr and rr rim w/o tire before having the tires done; check for clearance and how you like them being outward that inch (although not the same as having tire mounted and car down on the ground you can get an idea before making the final commitment)
