1400 miles first oil change??????// Read your manual!!!
ORIGINAL: showam1

Casper,

Is this going to end his warranty, or is it still in effect?
I have been looking into the underdrive pulleys, but am wary due to the fact I live in AZ, ... It gets HOT here Do you think I would be alright?, Will the aluminum block and heads make enough difference to pull it off? They should shed heat well...
I now have 1400 miles on my GT and figure i'm up for its first oil change, I have always burnt mobile 1, but not sure I can get it in the vicosity that the 4.6 calls for, what would you use?
How are the components quality wise of Steeda?
Since you already have a GT diff open, can you verify that it has a Limited slip? I have heard there are different ratios for the actual ability for a diff to send so many ft pounds of torq from one wheel to the other, so say a tire breaks at 30lbs of torq a 3x diff can send a max torq of 90lb to the wheel with traction is this true?

Thanks
Marty

WHAT!!!! ^^^^ Whats that mean. ?? lol

Casper, so do you recommend not putting the Underdrive Pulleys on due to possible damage and noise? Also, this may be a stupid question but is it only associated with the Steeda pullys?

Last question. If I use, let's say, the SCT XCalibrator Flash Device, will this suffice or should I still take it somewhere for a Dyno run/tune?

Thanks

JC
Sorry i have better things to do than spend my time on the internet.
But i would recommend the SHM pulleys more than i would Steeda. Also the Xcalib is a good unit. I would recommend it.

come on Casper .. Your the only ford tech they know of.. We all look for some good info from you since your in the front lines.. think of it like being the first to walk on the moon and being a catholic girls first [sm=badbadbad.gif] . I'm a total noob and like hearing the info and pics of the installs you do. Once my 05 heap comes in I will be popping in mods too. This forum is great.. its like a family in here.. ahhhhhhh

nope.. your not wasting your time.. haha.. dont let people bag you over your 98. We will all be in the same boat in a few years. But if mine lasts that long and "if I can keep it" long enough.. things should be ok. I have a friend with a TT supra that is all fixed up.. I need help to catch up to him.. some how..haha

Casper,
The easter egg hung coment was to 2k5pony because he was telling me to read my manual...
I already know what it says, and didn't feel like reading it again... So If HE knew of something in the manuual that said I shouldn't change my oil @ 1500 miles to point it out, not tell me to read my manual.

I to appreciate the info you provide, still a little confused about the trak loc rear end using the traction control to send power to the wheel with traction, heck, my early bronco had trac loks and no traction control, and always seemed to send some power to the tires that it needed it sent to... ?

Anyways, thanks again.
