Nanooki, I am old enough to recognize and appreciate good manners. No matter how many of you think it looks good to screw up your vehicles with an ugly wing, I recognize it for what it is.... Peer pressure and misguidance. Most of ya'll are actually defensive about the spoilers mainly because you have them and your friends do too, but if you actually LOOKED at an '05 GT w/o the spoiler next to one with and had no friends present, I bet you might feel differently. As far as the logic behind one of you saying people like them, that is why they come with them, I understand that very well and am pleased they also offer them without. To each his own but ugly runs deep!
good manners? did you read your first post? HAH!

Danko, the V6 Delux doesn't have the spoiler or stripes, the V6 Premium comes with it and the side racing stripes. I had the stripes deleted (no charge) from my Premium. (Other features come with the Premium and not Delux like the 6 way adjustable driver's seat and Shaker 500 and I forget what else)

"Is it functional?"

Of course it's functional. The car was designed in a wind tunnel and it's supposed to have a spoiler. Soccer moms don't need a spoiler.

I doubt it's very functional.

I love my Mustang without the spoiler... I'm definately not one for those "ricer" spoilers. However, if I were going to buy a spoiler, I'd probably buy a duck tail:

that spoiler does look nice.
The '05 without a spoiler reminds me more of my dad's stang than the '05 with a spoiler. He has a '68 fastback

There HAVE been decent spoilers but they are done with subtle style.

If you can point me to where you've seen a stock mustang come out with a HUGE ugly wing, please do so. All mustang wings that come stock are very nice and very much subtle.

Sure, huge whale tales look silly, but I don't see how you can knock on a stock spoiler, but I guess that's just your "personal opinion"

agree with above, the stock 05 spoiler is a WING, and the ducktail looks better imho

I like the clean lines of it without
