Save yourself a lot of trouble and just ground the wire. There a very few models where grounding the wire doesn't work.
There is no "switch" but more of a button that is released whenever the ebrake is engaged.

There is no "switch:. Pull up the console byh the ebrake and all you have to do is connect it to one of those wires. But usually for the bypass you just ground the parking brake wire. If you are not interested in the bypass then just hook it to the wire in the parking brake connection.

Looks like you need a step by step process.
Step 1 Remove the passengers side door sill plate.
Step 2 Remove the passengers side kick panel
Step 3 Remove the nut holding the SJB to the A pillar
Step 4 Pull the SJB out from the bottom until it unhinges and hangs free
Step 5 Find the right wire on one of the 7 or 8 connectors and 100s of wires
Step 5 Strip the insulation back avoiding damaging the copper conductors
Step 6 Find a wire of the correct size and attach it to the wire and solder
Step 7 Run this wire under the dash to the head unit and attach
Step 9 Reverse the order of steps 1-4 and reinstall the items removed

lol. Thanks! I appreciate your instructions, my friend. I'll try first attaching it to a ground, but I don't think that will work on my UV8 (since it doesn't work on the Jensen 9312--disabling requires a pulsing connection, not a steady one). If that doesn't work, and I can't find the "parking brake switch" cable, I'll just jerry-rig a little button that will make negative contact by pressing it. Thanks everyone. :-)

Which wire does it connect it to on my hand brake for my stereo. There is one tht screwed down like a ground wire and another live wire it looks like but idk.. So which one is it do you know..
