ORIGINAL: One Bad Stang

i'm ordering a hurst short throw for my 07 GT this friday. i have read the instructions and it looks simple enough, i'm a full time mechanic at mercedes, so i think i could figure it out. but i am curious if there are any recomended "alternative" techniques, or unexpected "hang-ups" people know of.

also, if anyone has this shifter installed, what do you think of it?? like it? love it? hate it? let me know. i cant wait to get it but i am still very interested in peoples experiences with it.
and if you have a "hate it" story, thats cool, just dont waste time trying to talk me out of getting it, i've got my mind made up and it cant be changed.
befor you order it check ebay theres a guy selling two of them i bought the third.. he got them from a ford dealer that went belly up.. any how i got mine for 133.00 shipped..

I think I'd spend the extra $50 just to get Brenspeed's customer service.

I would agree with tighting the bolts as the shifter came lose several times before I finally got it tighten right.

They are notchy, and I never miss 3rd gear anymore. They look nice and everyone remarks about it. Would I do it again... no, unles I took it to the track a lot.

I agree on not doing it again. I used loctite and nothing is loose but my complaint is that it takes some muscle to shift the thing. I could slap the stock one around with a few fingers, but not this one.

It does look cool as hell though and people love it. Visually its a cool mod. I just dont care for the way it shifts.

well, i went ahead and ordered it from brenspeed this morning. i gotta tell you, the EBAY guy is giving a good deal, but, i like brenspeed. they have great customer service, great selection, and great prices. i dont mind spending the extra money to deal with a great store like theirs. and i dont know about the manufacture's warranty, but i'm pretty sure brenspeed gives a 12 month warranty. the ebay guy offers none. but thank you for the info though. some parts i dont mind going to ebay for though, so it's allways good to have someone looking out for deals.
