Default Best time to buy a 2008 Mustang?

I have always loved Mustangs, but I have never had the financial stability to ever purchase a newer one. I am close to obtaining a great career job if everything goes well, which I'm hoping it does. So, it would probably already be upinto 2008 before I felt I hadenough stability to even think about purchasing a new car.

My question is this - wouldn't the best time to purchase a 2008 Mustang in terms of cost be right when the redesigned 2009's hit the lots? I mean, there's always rebates/incentives right when a new model comes out, and even more so when it's a redesigned model, correct? Any extra information, opinions, or advice is greatly welcomed.

Thanks.

well, i know i wouldn't be able to wait that long - of course i'm the kinda person who wants something yesterday once i get it in my head.

that being said, there are some pretty decent deals going on currently concerning '07's. if the timing is right, you might consider checking out some local dealers right now. but yes, once the '09's arrive, i'm sure you'll see a drop in s197 prices.

You are right -- they typically throw lots of cash back at you, and will let it go for a lot less than MSRP. If the '09s are different from the '08s they will have lots more pressure as people typically want the 'latest and greatest' look/hp/etc...

So walk on in, and steal an '08 sometime late next Summer. I think they started putting pressure on the '07s on the 4th of July this year. 0% Financing or $3000 cash back I think was the offer. Strangely enough I bought mine around then

Yep, my thoughts exactly. I think the 07's have a total of $2,500 in rebates right now in my region (Southeastern U.S.) at the moment til January 1st, and I'm hoping for atleast that much on the 08's when the 09's hit. But, wow... $3,000 would be freakin ideal! That on top of a small $500rebate I heard rumors about in my general area for being in law enforcement (if my job pans out), I could get a real steal... I'm hoping anyways!

Thanks.
