I dont know how much of a benefit it will serve. It should tighten up and hold the front end together a bit better. But you dont have to spend the big $$$. Just go to your parts dept. and order the GT5-- strut brace for 60 bucks and youre good. Looks nice and simple and dosnt really hurt anyones wallet.

I didnt hesitate to buy the braces I got from Moss Mustang, because a supercharger was up next on the mod list. All that extra power is going to have some type of effect on the chassis over time. I also know the S197 is a much stiffer chassis than any previous Mustang. My past experience with my Datsun Z was literally one you could feel. I autox that car for several years, and the difference was definetly there. So with that in mind, the bracing certainly wouldnt hurt this car. The 3 braces I got from them MAYBE weighed 10lbs total. Did I feel anything with them? Not really. But I didnt have the car very long before getting them, and my wifedrives the car more than me. So my seat time is limited.

Here is what you need to checking to see if you have underneith on the front end.
Some have it from the factory like the verts and some dont.
This would make more of a difference than an upper strut mount brace IMHO.

Do you NEED them....NO...Do you need new Mufflers, tires, wheels...NO

If you are into extreme handling, like i am, then yes they do provide more bracing, more bracing equalls stiffer car...Period..a little more weight, but you have to decide what is best for your set up

If its your daily driver then no...its like anything else...if you want it, get it..But make sure you know what you are getting and for the right reason..

I have the BMR brace on my V6 convertible. It resoved what I estimate as 60% of the dreaded cowl-shake effect over a very disruptive section of rough (I mean ROUGH) road near here. Not perfect, but very dramatic reduction of the out-of-control sensation.

I'd guess a strut bar isn't necessary, but had definite benefits in convertibles, not so much in coupes.
