87 pef. tune is my fave. and it makes me go.. ?????
After more than a year of using Bama chips programs I have found that the 87 perf is my favorite and it makes me wonder if there is something off with my 93 tunes....
I find that the 93 race feels like it has no power below 3k rpm's and dogs out in fith gear on the slightest incline. If you really jump on it, it does impress me but it feels sluggish as an everyday driver. Also I only get about 14.8 mpgs arounf town and that is pretty modest driving.
The 93 torq tunes responds much better at the bottom end (as it should) but dosn't have the snappy top end excellration that the race tune does.
But the 87 tune is by far the most responsive under 4k rpm, I can just rest my foot on the gas and the car just crusise along effortlesly. It drones much less on the highway and I get about 3 more MPG with it.
Reading what everyone else has to say about the race tunes makes me wonder if there is something off with my programs. I did mention this to Doug about 6 months ago and he did send me new files for 93 race and 93 torq and they were better but I keep going back to the 87 and find that the car is much peppier as a daily driver.....
any thoughts on this?

My 93 tune makes my car act like it was shot from a slingshot both low and high end. I don't know if you have a manual or auto, I have a manual. Even on the highway if I'm doing 75 and step on it, she responds. I get 25 mpg on the highway at 70 mph and around 18-20 city. I love it.

I never gave the performance or torque tunes a fair shot. This is what I did when
I first received the tunes. Loaded the 87 perf, left driveway, floored it and chirped 2nd.
Came back home, loaded 91 torque, floored it and chirped 2nd. Came back home,
loaded 91 race and chirped again and left the race tuneloaded. I'll run the perf tune
for the rest of the week and let you know if I feel anything.

+1
I mostly use my 87 perf as I like the power and I get about 2 mpg better. Dont know if that is because I dont get on it as much or what. Now that winter time is coming (as much as we get in FL) I am going to try the 93 race again to see what it does with some cooler air.
