Can you get the model cars and put them together yourself? Anyway it would be like working on your real car.

There are some smaller kits but I do not know of any in 1:18 scale. I guess the idea of people building stuff is in the decline.

I bought a $14 remote control one at Toys R Us...it looks decent but not nearly that nice!
