Default RE: Just added the Shaftmasters aluminum drive shaft

Why does Ford use a two piece shaft and how will a aluminum shaft hold up to the road salt in winter?
It sounds good for racing but how about for a daily driver?

Ford uses the two-piece due to torque & NVH. There is no slip shaft on the end of our trannys, the driveshaft bolts to a hub. The slip shaft is built into the Ford driveshaft. This is where all of the clunking you hear between shifting gears is found. Should be no problems for the alum. d/s, as a lot of vehicles come from the factory with this, and actually have less rust than a steel unit. The spydershaft is actually based off of a ranger d/s.
