Default CAI Question (Inlet Tube Comparison)

I currently have the FRPP "Pro-Cal" tune with the FRPP CAI (FR1 "Power Pack".) Well, I've simply outgrown it, and I want to upgrade, I will be installing a custom SCT tune shortly.

The C&L Racer Intake is nice, but I don't want to spend the extra $299 for it. I was thinking, would it be ok to keep the FRPP filter/assembly, and get a Steeda Inlet tube ($100) instead? In other words, it looks (in pictures) as if the FRPP inlet is a little smaller in inside diameter than the C&L . Would it really make that much of a diference, or am I splitting hairs? I like the way the FRPP filter looks, and I'd rather keep it, and would just replace the stock inlet air tube with the Steeda one, just like the Steeda CAI kit. Thanks!

Replacing the tube should be fine. With the tune, you will get a kick in the pant upgrade in performance.
