Rattle at start up?
I have the same rattle. It only rattles when the engine is cold and the rattle happens at exactly 2500 RPMs for just a second. I looked under my car and saw 2 bolt holes on each side of the trans. I just wanted to verify that I am looking in the right place. The holes go directly into the trans correct? 2 on each side? Also, I have a hydrolic floor jack, where should I place it so that I don't damage the underbody of the car? I want to jack it from the from, not the side and put jack stands under it. Thanks for all of your help!!
there are not any bolts. Im thinking youre checking out the wrong place. Get under her and look stright at the plate between trans and engine. Then you see 2 threaded holes and empty. lol.
Jacking, well it tells you in youre owners manual. But i guess you took the easy way out. Look a few inches behind youre drivers wheel and you'll see a notch in the metal. Jack from there, also sometimes if you can get under it, use the K-member.

I attached a picture of where the missing bolts are. Of corse mine are there now. This should give you a better idea where to look.[IMG][/IMG]

I wanted to personally thank you casper for fixing my rattle. I took my printed copy of this thread to the ford dealership today and sure as hell you are right. Mine was also missing the two screws . Thanks Casper you are the_________ M A N________.
I know you've received many thanks, but it's worth saying it again- THANK YOU CASPER! My dealership seems to think I'm an idiot female that doesn't have a clue. Although I don't know much about the mechanics of my car, I'm not an idiot and I KNOW when somethings not right. I will bring in this thread along with a few others I've printed and get my car running in tip top shape.
