Default Aftermarket Steering Wheel

I know this has been posted before and I've searched to no avail. I'm totally sick of this stock steering wheel and willpay just aboutany price to get rid of it. Does anyone know if the SVT wheel is any smaller in diameter? I know it looks different, more ergo. But is it smaller?

Are there other options? I know that you can't legally get rid of the airbag.

I was wondering the same thing a while ago. Curious to see the answer as well.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I hate this stock wheel. My 86' GT's wheel made this one look grandma. And why didn't Ford add more adjustment to the tilt???? I maybe could live with it with another 1' or so of tilt. My GF's toyota has more tilt adj than my "sports car".

There are federal laws mandating that automotive manufacturers install airbags. There are also laws that prevent automotive repair shops or dealers from disabling or removing them.

However, there are no federal laws mandating what the individual or "non-professionals" can do.

Ahhhhh, is that right? I'll have to look into that. Always heard about these guys that install lcd screens and such into their airbag area and have the cops tell them that they're being towed for non-compliance with fed laws. Thats what scares me.

I've seen it. It def looks better than the hoola hoop in my car, but doesn't really look smaller in diameter.

If I'm going to cough up $400 for a new wheel, I want something smaller than this one.

Your state laws may require a functional air bag, particularly if there is a state inspection process.

I guess I just wanted to dispel the myth about Federally mandated laws that are meant for manufactures, dealers, and repair shops.
