put them on by hand, you will be able to get them off by hand.







But not everybody's hand is the same.They used to have printed on the box 3/4 to 1 turn after the seal makes contact.

I don't change my own oil anymore because I always had a hard time disposing of it properly butI used to rub a little oil on the gasket and hand tighten. Never had any problems.

I actually have to change my oil this weekend because winter storage is right around the corner. First oil change with the car...kind of looking forward to it.

I recommend hand tight, (strong hand) or a slight turn with a filter wrench.
