Default Destroyed

Driver runs a red light. Nails my left front. Wheel broke, tire blew, sent me flying into another car and over the median. Front bumper destroyed. Had to get wooden blocks to get it up off the median. I'm afraid to look underneath to see the damage. Good thing I saved the stock parts...but still.

I'm not sure I can justify spending all the money to fix these parts that I just put in. There was no extra insurance for the aftermarket parts. I think it's about time I upgraded to a GT. Then I wouldnt mind so much completely reparing my $2000 front bumper. It looks like i'll have to part out what I can. I'll post pics soon, but it hurts just looking at it! Going out to put the stock pony bumper and wheels back on in a minute. It's a sad sad day.

Oh and I dislocated my shoulder, but that was insured will any of my control arms or ANYTHING else be compatible in the GT? Hopefully the rear isnt damaged, I'm at a loss for words really. I'm lucky I wasnt fired today

That sucks!

Other driver ran the red + witness(es) should = $0 out of pocket for you. With your injuries, I would think the other insurance company would be happy to settle for putting your car back to normal just as a way to keep you in a good mood.

You might want to consult a lawyer sooner rather than later.

Well you won't get anything from your insurance company for the parts because you weren't at fault, not because there is no coverage. The other partys insurance has to repair the car and second party insurance will not pony up for the parts you added unless you sue. But if your insurance company is worth anything and this were your fault they would pay for your add ons. The company I work for will replace anything that was damaged on the car and contrary to some of the crap I have been hearing on the forum, there really isn't an endorsement you add to your insurance policy for mods. If the claims adjuster can prove that the parts on your car were damaged in the accident the insurance company has a responsibility to make you whole again. That means they have to put you car back the way it was. Remember, you aren't asking for stuff you didn't have before.

Get the quote to fix it from the dealer and then take the cash. For the price of new ford parts you may be able to buy the after market stuff that was trashed.

Man that sucks, what a great looking car and I hope you are ok and that the insurance company pick up all the mods. I seen you post on the other site!

Just about everything should be compatable with the GT, I'm switching everything out.

Just put the stock pony wheels/tires back on and looked underneath. Obviously the one wheel/tire is trash. My rear control arm was thrown off, my E-brake cable was severed. My rear bumper isnt holding on well, and the cervinis front kit is completely gone. I dont even want to think of CONSIDERING fixing it, the plastic is cracked all the way through, the bottom grill is bent and I think I lost a turn signal...
As I moved the car after I swapped the wheels, the alignment feels like its off, and I'm afraid I have a thunk that could be a major problem coming from where I was hit. I'll inspect it better when I put the pony bumper back on.

As for insurance, the one who caused the incident didnt have any. I'm sure he's getting a lot of trouble for that from the police, but doesnt help my situation much. I'm not a very litigous person. If the structural damage isn't too horrible, it looks like I'm stuck with my mustang **** rigged for a season. There's no doubt I will have to get something new come spring. I'm just not sure what that might be or what I'll want to/will be able to part out

Thanks for the support
