JBA sells an entire setup for this, including mufflers, Y or H pipe etc that bolts right up for about $600.00.

Default RE: just got back from the muffler shop

I was in a similar situation when I got my car. The first thing I wanted to do when I got my V6 almost 2 years ago was get a GT rear bumper and slap a couple flowmasters up underneath it. I hated the silent acceleration because I'm not used to it. So I start figuring out what to set aside to save for the bumper and exhaust and what not. Well it turns out that the day I go to the dealership to get my license plates (it's only 3 weeks old, I got the car brand spankin' new) I get rear ended! I was turning into their parking lot when I got hit. Luckilly all it did was scratch up the bumper and didn't screw up anything besides the bumper. So the body shop replaced it with a GT bumper since the cost is only like 5 more bucks to them.

Once I got my car back, I had the stock exhaust and a GT rear bumper cover. I went to probably 5 different shops and they were all refusing it saying the car was likely to blow up because of the placement of the gas tank! Bastards! I finally found a shop and told the guy my situation and he looked at it and laughed. He said it wouldn't be a problem and offered to do it the next day.

In the end, I didn't buy any kits for it, I took it to the shop, they converted it to straight duals without any crossover pipe, and 2 flowmasters. I paid $400 total and I love it.

I hope you find a shop that will work with you. They do exist, but they may be few and far between.

I've done one V6 dual at my shop. I didnt hesitate about doing it. The only thing that was making me a bit gunshy was cutting out the opening on the left side to accomodate the pipe. Measured a half dozen times to make sure I got it right. Once I was done with the saws-alla dremel tool smoothed everything out beautifully. I was happy. Customer was happy. It was good!

Last summer I took my car to Top Value in MI.
They said they could do it over the phone but when I got down there
the lazy a$$ mechanic didn't want to do it. He gave me a bunch of excuses
and said it might hurt my motor. So he put the one on and it's better then
it was, but not what I wanted. Maybe next spring I'll find someone to do it,
if I don't end up selling it for a white GT. lol [8D]

Just keep calling around, hopefully you can find someone to do it for ya, good luck !

Thatbend over techwanted you to buy from him so he outright
lied to you. Believe the forum members as they know more about
mustangs than that pipe bender ever will.

SCCAGT - where's your shop and what is the name? I'm thinking about having duals put on my V6 and I'm near KC.

I went to my local Midas and Car-X, and both said they could do it. I did go in already having a GT H-pipe, midpipes, mufflers, and hangers and clamps bought. And told them exactly what i needed from them. So maybe they could see that i knew what was needed, and didn't try any of that "you have to buy our system" crap.
