On the way home from a dealer on the highway, I almost had the same thing happen to me. I was able to move over quick enough to miss it thank god.[:@]

I feel your pain .....I just had mine replaced for the same reason. I was in bumper to bumper traffic and watched it as it was flying towards my car! Totally missed the junk cars around me!

If it is smaller that 1/4 inch in size, your insurance company will fix it without the deductible.

It's low on the passanger side, but we have had cold weather here lately so it's spread to about 6 inches.

At least most insurance companies will cover the windshield due to things such as this...
And you don't have to paint the windshield!

Thank god!

I remember on my prev car (nissan sentra[:'(]) I was going down the highway and some jack a$$ sped by me bringing up a above averaged size bolt - likely from a construction vehicle - right up on me. If it weren't dark I could have evaded however didn't see it til last minute.

It was a relatively small spider vein... however I needed to replace the glass before it spread. I have a $1000 dollar deductable and to bad I didn't realize that the insurance might have covered it w/o.

For me a $1000 dollars isn't much.I prefer tokeep insurance out if at all possible.

+1... I had this happen to me recently and ifyou call your insurance, they will tell you to
get a bid. Take it to a glass replair and ask them if they take your insurance. It won't cost
you a cent. But do it quickly because the cold weather will make the crack spread faster.
You can't even tell on my windsheild where it was. Good Luck!

I got one in mine within 30 days of having my car and went straight to the auto parts store and got one of the kits and fixed mine in about 30 min. Can't tell where it was, but mine was only about 1.5 inches across.
