Default To Lean ???

My buddy has on 06 GT and he just installed Steeda UDP's, an Air Raid CAI, and a throttle body spacer, but he hasnotchanged the factorytune on it. Is there a chance that he's running lean, also on average what do you guys think he is seeing in HP with these add-ons....10-15 more HP....

UDP's dont need a retune. UDP's free up about 10 ponies. I dont know very much about throttle body spacers, so Ill leave that one alone and let someone else chime in.

Its "possible" the car could be running just a tick lean because of the CAI w/ no tune. There is an argument weather or not CAI's without tunes make power or not, so im gonna leave that one alone, too.

if the MAF signal to the PCM is
maxed out, because of increased
airflow past the MAF, then the result
would be that the fuel injector duty
cycle, does not increase enough to
correct the air/fuel mixture resulting
in a leaner than nominal condition

Throttle body spacers do nothing for performance. I'm not sure whether the AirRaid intake requires a tune or not.

+1 to Hammeron.

It depends on which Airaid CAI he has.
The new one with the removable insert
or an old one without the Modular Venturi
Technology?

The TB spacer would make a better paperweight.
To quote Airaid on TB spacers:
"The results are improved drivability and increased fuel efficiency."

AIRAID’s hot, new intake system for the 05-08 Mustang GT V-8 (p/n 450-172) is actually two intake systems in one. AIRAID’s newest Cool Air Dam intake utilizes Modular Venturi Technology to generate an additional 17 horsepower and 21 lb/ft of torque while maintaining proper air and fuel ratios across the entire RPM range. The system boasts a 4-inch roto-molded intake tube, larger than any other intake on the market for a BEEFY look, that is mated to a lightweight composite Cool Air Dam.What makes AIRAID’s system different from the rest is the Modular Venturi Tube. The MVT is what maintains proper air/fuel ratios with the stock electronic tuning. But in order to take advantage of such serious performance bolt on such as high-lift camshafts, big-port cylinder heads, headers and other high-performance parts, the MVT can be removed for even more horsepower and torque gains provided customer-supplied custom electronic tuning is installed. This gives serious Mustang performance enthusiasts the ability to retain the AIRAID intake as they add serious performance upgrades to the car without worrying about the need to upgrade the air intake for added air flow.

I am now lost.
How do you fix a maxxed out MAF
signal with a software tune?
Diablosport MAFia?

I think he means the stock tune has adjust all it can with its abilities and you need a tune to adjust these values any further for proper a/f ratio
