Default RE: Need new shocks?

yuck someone who said they would need to replace struts with lowering and then says you can cut springs? cut springs will blow even aftermarket struts. One benefit of aftermarket springs is that they are stiffer and that is going to make them compress less and slightly slower than the stock springs releiving some stress from the struts. Cutting factory springs would make the struts work just as hard absorbing the impact of whatever you run over but will also create that stress of the struts being compressed more on a regular basis. They would also bottom out easier which will be very dangerous, it disrupts the balance of the vehicle and could cause instant loss of control, and they wont seat properly on the strut assembly which could cause a wreck also. Cutting springs also ruins integrity of the spring, the most common way to cut a spring is with a torch and that heat can weaken a spring and make it more likely to crack. It should be a crime to suggest cutting springs as even a possability.

$257.28 from Drivewire with free shipping but a $14.95 "handling fee" because of the weight. Eibach won't be sending them out until the first part of April.
