GT300

RE: GT300
We have a dealer in town that puts the GT300 stripe on the Mustang's it sells. I have a black GT300 stripe on my Performance White GT and love the way it looks. I do get people that ask what package that is and I just tell them it isn't but refers to the 300 hp the car is rated at. They like the car reguardless!

RE: GT300
The only argument I hear for why people get a V6 is that they can't afford a GT. How this works, I don't know. It's not like they are paying in cash. The difference in payment between a V6 and a GT is not that much. My friend checked on the insurance, and that is only a few dollars cheaper for the V6. I would have bought a used GT before I bought a new V6. I don't understand the allure of the V6. It's front bumper is uglier than the GT's. It's rocker panels are not painted to match the car. It has a V6 and not a V8. I really think people psyche themselves out of getting a GT with lame arguments. That's why I don't see the point in supercharging or turbocharging a V6.
As far as the track goes.....I don't foresee myself ever taking my car to a dragstrip, so I don't care about those issues.

I agree the V8 is the better value (it's only slighty more and you get more stuff), but all contemporary cars are over-powered from a pragamatic standpoint anyways.
Most Mustangs that are sold are NOT V8's, something like 75% last year were the V6 (not quite sure about that specific number but it was pretty high). Most people who buy V6's probably just want to save a little money and gas and don't really ever use the power of the V8 anyways. That's my guess at least. And as for supercharing, maybe it is cheaper to supercharge a 6 than get a GT straight up?
