7200RPM ?!?!?! Wow...

The TB will not close if you have a proper tune.

Who was able to change the way the rpm limiter works for you?
I would much rather have a "Hard Limiter" than a soft limiter.
I may need to try his tune.

The tuners I consulted had no problem eliminating the Torque Management TB closing but said they
where unable to change the way the factory rpm limiter works.
IEWhen set for 6800rpm the TB begins to close at 6400 rpm, spark is cut at 6800 rpm and fuel is cut at6975(?) rpm.

PS I just got off the phone with Doug at Bama to confirm. TB starts to close 400 rpm beforerpm limit.

Its not like your required to go there...
On a regular basis I would limit the factory rods to 6800 rpm.

Me personally I feel safer spinning 6800 rpm on the 1-2 shift (lower load) with a 7200 rpm limiter
than I do crossing the line at 6500 rpm. If it blows I can almost guarantee it will occur at the topend.

I certainly feel safer than I would with a 12psi blower turning 6500 rpm....

Again do what you want its your engine and your money. Me i like going 12's this easy.
Sure wasnt this easy with a Fox Body 302 or even a 1968 FB with a 428PI.

No, but I have an automatic, that might be why? Don't know if that would affect this part of the tune, but who knows?

I wonder if he sets the rpm lower on the 3.31 geared M5 cars?
I would hit the limiter in 3rd (3.55) on some passes withit set at 6500 rpm.

well for anyone who cares this is what brenspeed said:

Yes you can raise it no problem. My auto tune shifts high because of the auto trans gearing. I have to have the limiter that high. On a manual I shift at around 6,100 so 6500 will do just fine but you can set it to 6800 if you like. Sometimes I set them to 6,800 on manuals if the customer wants to shift high. It will not hurt anything that I have seen and we can been testing them to 6,800 for 3 years now
