Short throw shifter sure is a fun upgrade.
Did the MGW come with the gasket or did you go to Cobra Bob?

Ok, ok guys. I installed the shifter today and immediately headed out to a friends house to watch the games so I just now got a chance to post my findings.
First of all, I hope this is the last shifter that I have to install and I think it will be. This thing is great. Getting the Hurst out of the car was about as much fun as getting it in there. It sucked. Due to my large (4') driveshaft it was no fun working around it. If I have to do this again, the driveshaft is getting dropped!!! The first pic shows what I see when I look up to where the shifter mounts. Not much area to work around. Second pic is the shifter installed. Third pic is the comparision of shift ***** between the MGW and Hurst. The MGW is slightly larger and fits the hand more comfortably, IMO. Fourth pic is the shifter completely installed in car.
The shifter has the short throw like the hurst but is soooo much smoother. A real joy, I have to say. I also just uploaded a video of the shift action. As soon as it's available on youtube I'll post it up here.

And here's the video! You can see the short/smooth action and the nice return spring. I don't think the Hurst even had a return spring....
