Default Torque

Ok stupid question but can you use a hand tool to torque bolts down and if so how do you know how much pressure you are applying, like 130 ft/lbs. Thank you.

Default RE: Torque

Torque wrench. $40-$300

<$120 are set with a locking dial that has markings as to what the TQ is set at. When you reach the preset limit the TQ wrench 'Clicks' and gives a little on the handle.

More expensive units are digital and will 'Beep' at you.

Oh and you NEVER want to use air tools to torque things down. Loosing is fine but using air tools to tighten things down is a good way to break bolt and warp things.
