Some Blocking is expected. Yes. But tell us what happens when the hood can't be fixed. I would like to know!
ORIGINAL: Fast Toys
Any fiberglass hood is going to require some brands are worse than others. We sell those made by Trufiber and Suncoast.
The Trufiber ones are on sale right now and you can get pricing in the exterior section of our online catalog.
Thanks!

RE: Fiberglass Hoods?
I agree pretty much with what everyone else said. I have the California Dream hood and my body guy said it was a 9.5 out of 10. Little prep was necessary before painting. I recommend you have the hood shipped to your body shop of choice. Make sure your body guy inspects the hood upon delivery and assesses the effort. He should be able to tell a bad hood from good. Send the bad one back and demand a better one. Reputable places like Cervini and RK Sport should not have this issue as they preinspect their hoods before shipping.
Mine fit in the stock mountings in all places. Even the washer nozzels snapped in place. I have yet to install hood pins. But I do see the hood floating quite a bit as I approach 100. I suspect I'll break down and get them this year. You probably won't be able to use hood struts. The guys I know, including my own personal experience, had struts but had to remove them because they caused the edges of the fiberglass hood to bow.
Good luck with your project.
