If you garage your car keep your oem wheels close to where you park and you'll almost never have the problem .

how much you think a shop would charge to mount and balance my tires if i buy the rims seperate and have my tires transfered over along with the sensor?

$10 to $15 a tire. ANY HIGHER and you laugh and walk away.

Seriously.

This includes jack up of your current car, taking the old tire valve off, deflating and removing the tire, moving the sensor, and all the rest to remount.

The goodyear place I'm going to charges $100 to mount and balance 4 tires. I'm assuming they will ask for about $50 more to do the sensors too.

You're getting ripped.

If you're in the San Fernando Valley area, go to Tires Buy Mark on Topanga and Saticoy. Anywhere else, just find a local tire shop with a Mexican pit crew and you'll have all 4 taken down, broken down, swapped, rebuilt, rebalanced and remounted within 1 hour. $40 out the door, usually.

I don't mean to sound racist about it, but we only have what's been referred to as "Mexican Pit Crews" around here. I sell wheels/tires for my area so I know most of the local guys.

I live in NC, so San Fernando is a "noway Jose" for me.

We have Mexicans too, but not like CA Mexicans. Ours only work the fields. No pit crews.

I got the bands put on with the new 18s and it saved me a possible wreck. Going down the road one day and a nail got into the tire and nearly delated, well I never would have known unless the sensor had gone off. Went and got it fixed that day so if I was you I'd get the sensors installed

LMFAO! I just started cracking up at that one.

Ask goodyear who their biggest no-name competitor is, then go to him as and him who his is, and so forth till you find a guy that's cheap. If he's local enough, just watch what he does to one person's swap and judge if you want to.

5 phone calls and a 20 minute drive could very well save you $110... I'm just giving you advice on how to save $$$ for something as pointlessly simple as this.

Hell putting my exhaust in welded tempered and mounted with perfection costs less than what you're being asked for for tire/sensor replacement.

JUST A NOTE. You can take the sensors off yourself if you can get the tires off. All you need is a flathead screwdriver.

Thanks. I can't seem to find many people who have even heard of TPMS, much less transferred the sensors.
