i suppose the tpms sensors are a nice idea in theory, and yes they could save you from suffering some serious damage if you encounter a tire problem, but to me they're a pita. i have two sets of shoes (winter and summer) and i didn't bother with the sensors for either so i'm constantly hitting reset. now it's just a course of habit, so i barely notice doing it when i start her up. my point, though, is that back in the day, people just checked their tire pressure personally. there are ways to identify if one's tires are low without the magic of tpms technology [&:]i know this sounds crazy, but i'd rather trust in myself and an accurate gauge than a constantly malfunctioning sensor.
Exactly, it's all about avoiding another "Firestone/Explorer" incident, when in reality a lot of those people were at fault for not conducting normal maintenance on their vehicle.

will the replica gt500 wheels that measure 18x9 fit my stock 18 tires?

If you talking about 235/50-18 tires on the stock wheel...the answer is NO. Our stock tires are only made to fit a 8.5" wide wheel which the stock wheel is. I have a set of gt500 replicas and they are 18x9 if I remember correctly. They require a 9.5" wide tire. Common tire size for that wheel is a 255/45-18 which has almost the exact same overall diameter. Hope that helps!!

Transferring my sensors were a pain in the butt. Well, that is what the shop that did them made it sound like...[&:] Apparantly you have to get a new band for it to fit 20s. I drove around for like 2 weeks w/out the sensors and personally it was annoying to hit the reset button each time I started the car. It was definitely a relief to finally get them in there.

Anyone got pictures of these things? I plan on getting 20's in the next wee and need to know what I'm dealing with. How much does it cost for new ones?

I have 18" Razors, staggered fit see sig for details. I paid extra to have them put in the sensors, and it was no big deal. It cost me like an extra 50 bucks to get the bands and the moved my sensors from my factory rims into my new ones. It works great and I don't have to hit reset evertime I get in my car.

im in the market for buying new wheels and tires for my car. im looking for the gt500 style chrome. however i have noticed that the 07+ models come equipped with a different kind of tire pressure sensor. has anyone here bought new wheels from some place and have them install the sensor for you? if so then where? also is it a big deal if you dont have the sensor? thanks
No big deal for not having the sensor.
The GT will tell you that you have a
low air condition everytime you start
the car requiring you to reset it.
The V6s and ponies have a light
that blinks for 30 seconds then
it quits annoying you until you start
the car again.

Damn, thats pretty simple.. but it's going to be a PITA. You'd think Ford would have had an option to turn it off.

So how well does the PVC tube work? I've heard it doesn't work.
How well does it work? well, it works. [8D] Just make sure you have it tight and no air is escaping and its good
