Rookie alert - oil type, doest it matter?
I have already proven my lack of knowledge so if you want to make fun of me I am humble and can take whatever you throw at me.
What are the differences in oil types? TacoBill sugests 5W-20 for your ride. I am changing my oil tomorrow (first time ever doing by myself) and want to make sure I use the best possible for my situation. Does weather play a factor? It is in the 40s here in the morning but over the next couple months I should expect consistent 50-65 degree weather with some days in the 40s and some in the 70s.
Again, I am sorry for such novice questions. I am still surprised that everyone on here is so nice. All my forum experiences in the past are full of arrogant people who hide behind their anonymous persona.
A special thanks to TacoBill and the others who write the "How To's" for making me comfortable grabbing the wrench.

5w-20 is good. Use the full synthetic though. Good luck, so much easier for me to go have it done, saves time and so convenient. Just have to go to someplace that does good work.

Here's the thread from yesterday where this is discussed:

5w20 if you have a GT. Other than that, it doesn't really matter as far as temps. Read all you can and develop your own thoughts on the oil, but I have used both full synthetic and blends successfully.

Also almost all 5W-20 is at least a GII/GIII Synthetic Blend. Reguardless of how it may be marketed.
While in theory it might be possible to make it out of all GII+ Basestock its cheaper to make it out of GII/GIII blend.
Dollar for Dollar the Conoco (Motorcraft) is hard to beat.
I use Castrol Syntec 5W-20 just becauseI likesynthetic on the heavy end of the scale (almost 30 weight).
Im not going to delude myself that the engine its going to last any longer thanwith MC 5W-20 changed at proper intervals though.
