..............................so to summarize, use Ford Racing parts installed by a Ford Racing shop, and all is well in the world of warranties.

In practical terms it's a lot to do with the dealership itself. They could easily do the work and charge Ford for it, if they wanted. Seems to be that a lot of dealerships are too lazy to take warranty work on as it doesn't pay as much as conventional work, so they go to lengths to find reasons to refuse work.

It's fair enough that they would turn away warranty issues which have been directly aggravated by mods but too often they freak out and turn customers away for the most unrelated reason. i imagine that the majority of customers in this position bite the bullet and have them do the work anyway, electing to pay for it themselves, which is what the garage wants of course.

My dealership has been pretty good so far. They swapped out my diff pack for a GT500 Carbon item (I paid part cost differential ) as it was groaning, under warranty even though they know it has a blower. They swapped out my strut top mounts even though they know it has FRPP suspension which isn't warranted.

It's more often luck I think.

EDIT

I just saw the above post. I was told that for FRPP warranty I would have to take it to an SVT or FRPP orientated dealer for work normally

There is a law that protects us as the consumer. It is the magnuson moss act. In a nutshell it says that no OE can void a warranty without a 100% reasonable doubt that the aftermarket part that was installed caused the failure to the OE part.

Here's the problem, people think that the dealer has the final word in repairs of any sort. Wrong!

If the dealer ever denies you a warranty claim, doesn't fix your car properly, or refuses to fix your car, then your next action should be a call to Ford customer service directly.

I had some issues with a GM dealer once and called GM customer service. You can bet the dealership took notice when GM called them up the next day to schedule my appointment. Guess what? The problem was immediately addressed and fixed perfectly.

Don't let a dealer push you around. If the dealer has treated you unfairly or you have a question about warranty, then call Ford!

We all know about the Moss act. If you have done anything that is questionable concerning the warranty, expect no relief from Ford or the stealership AND be prepared to go to court.
