To the OP once again very misguided info here

use the goddamn clutch
Oh come on now! Lighten up. It would be kind of boring around here if we all said to use Amsoil, get a CAI and tune, fix the frozen parking brake, delete spoiler, shoot posers, hang auto owners, etc etc etc. Someone's got to liven up the world.
I hear a campaign slogan coming up!!

Here's one. "Can't we all just get along?" Even the monks in a Tibetan monestary flip each other off.

I'm all for having fun, but remember that we have a lot of kids on here with limited driving experience and less mechanical know how.

Tell them that this is fine to do and they'll go do it and subsequently spend the next monthgetting into huge fights about why their warranted gearboxes are full of unattached metal chunks.

my husband taught me how to do this just incase my clutch was on its way out at some point...

it pops out of gear easily and it wont go into another gear until revs have matched properly... be sure to put enough pressure because if u dont it will grind. but if there is enough pressure and revs are good its like it just gets sucked in...

i thought it was neat to know, but not something ill do everyday...

Exactly. I threw it out there for a FYI type suggestion. It was not meant to replace a clutch.

It's normal. You can also sfift into the next higher gear without using the clutch.
...well....some of us can.
Anyone can. You simply shift to the next higher gear without giving it gas and hold pressure against the shifter untl it drops in gear.
to heck with the syncros

Yeah, you could do it. But what you are doing is riding the synchromesh until the RPM's match. Since the synchros in our transmissions were not built for this purpose they will wear out prematurely.

As stated before, you could do it. But a new clutch is ALOT cheaper than a new transmission.
