I know my dealer could answer this, but if you order, and it happens to go in as planned and on time, do you lose the deposit if you just cancel for any reason? I was going to wait a month to order (due to starting a new job), but thinking about ordering just to get a headstart.

My delear said when the car comes in as planned with everything I have ordered with it and nothing is wrong, and I decdide to back out of the buy I will loose my deposit.

~I'm wondering if you have a deposit on your car and the say it's be 12 weeks till you have it and it takes 30 weeks if you pull you cancel the order will you get your deposit back. because if I have to wait longer than what he had said, like most others it seems, than I'm gonna say F#ck it and cancel my order and just get on the list for a shelby, because if i have to wait as long as others described I might as well wait for the shelby to come in.

If not, try to get them to at least give you "store credit" so at least if you're set on a Ford, you're not at a loss...

I used your previous post specifically when I talked to the dealer as an example for the dates. My priority was 15 so I'm sure that was a factor although the dealer was not able, or at least not willing to explain to me the priorities. Once again, there is a letter/list (I confirmed it with 3 other dealers) and I can certainly go there an see it if I like.
Evidently between your car having a high priority, and having the right combo of options, it made it through the line quickly.
Mine has neither of those going for me evidently , although the dealer did have the allotment for it - I checked that before ordering through them.

The problem is, just about all dealers are doing the same thing. Putting customer orders behind their stock units.

Personally, I'd ask my dealer to let me see a copy of the letter just to satisfy my own curiosity. There's way too many stories/excuses that have been told by the dealers for me to take their word for it.

I ordered my Mineral Grey GT (non IUP) with X-plan on 1/18/05. Was told I would have the car in 6-8 weeks. Well 8 weeks into the deal I found out through the DORA that I was a priority 20 and they had no Idea why I was told 6-8 weeks by the salesman.

Salesman told me they would not change the priority for an X-plan buyer and if I canceled I would get my deposit back and he would sell the car for MSRP or Higher once it arrived.

I did receive my $1K deposit back and found a car similar to the one I ordered (Mineral Grey with ISAP and parchment interior rather than Charcoal) in stock at an honest dealer nearby.

No X-plan but no markup over MSRP either.

You are more than likely to have the same experience as I had and have your deposit refunded as the GT is so hard to get they will be able to sell it off easily when and if it does arrive.

Good luck

I ordered my GT on 31 DEC while I was in Iraq. I was told it would be here around 20 MAR just in time for me to cruise in when I came home. Well I have been home for two and a half weeks, and my dealer says they still haven't even given him a build date. I am with the rest of you and getting more pissed off every day. I keep searching other dealers inventories all around Florida and even Georgia, but no one has one the way I want it. I may say screw it and take the money I had planned for the '05 and dump it all into my '66.

Those bastards at Ford. Design and build the wickedest car to come out of the US in years, then run a million advertisments, superbowl etc... generate massive interest and then not make enough to satisfy consumer demand. Bastards.
