wow that is a good way to get some people pissed off, go to a mustang page and say "my car is faster, what the deal-e-o?"
he asked a perfectly leget question and he gets called a lyer and basicly gets flamed.

Popular Hot Rodding (the monthly bible of muscle cars old and new) and put the mustang gt output and over 300 closer to 310. that being said it is no match for a ls1 powered anything... 350 ci > 281ci variable cam timing or not! its not about just the peak hp, you have to look at the torque curve. 300 hp is nice at 5700 rpm but you still have to accelerate to even get to that point, the ls1 is something like 350 ftlbs at as low as 2800 rpm! that means big hp all the way thru the revs. Honestly the chevy v8s have ALWAYS had more power than the fords, because they are bigger and have more money put into rnd. but they also always cost twice as much. what ford does best is find the most cost effecient approach to performace, they dont make 400 hp small blocks, they make 300 hp engines that weigh less and cost half as much.
True, he posted a legit question but at the same time says he beat a dozen '05s by 3 car lenghts. Not only that he claims he beat the only 2 Cobras in town. It's not hard to believe he beat and '05, but a dozen in a town that has only 2 cobras? I don't get it. Where I live we have a dealership that's 3rd in the Nation and the #1 roush dealer in the nation. I cruise the streets Friday and Saturday nights, hang out at the street races, go to the drag strip and there are very few'05s racing. So I think he's exagerating a bit when he says he raced 12 '05s already. Maybe raced the same '05 12 times? I raced a Cobra in 2 different ocassions, and yes of course they beat me maybe by one, one and a half car lenght (this was from about 45 - 50 MPH in the HWY) and I was able to hang in there and in one instance I was doing about 143MPH and the cobra wasn't gaining any more on me.

The Fox Body 5.0s were overrated a couple of times throughout their run. I am not exactly sure what years. All the ones rated at 225 H.P were acctually only 215 at the fly wheel.
