dyno slips
have any of you 2005 300hp gt's have a dyno slip to prove this. Im sorry but i have raced about a dozen 05 ponies and all of them lose by at least 3 car lenghts. My ride is a 35th anniv ss camaro with dyno slips of a 358 hp run but the stang weighs less and has 300??Is your 300 at the flywheel or at the wheels, or is it like the 99?{i cant remember year} that was rated 15 hp more than it made?

RE: dyno slips
300hp/320tq at the crank not wheels. Not sure how much or how to figure out RWD power loss to the wheels.

RE: dyno slips
No Ford is lying, all 05 Mustangs make 300 million hp to the wheels. It's a gaint cover up to smoke you chevy guys. The dozen of mustangs you beat by three cars let you win so you would feel good about yourself.

RE: dyno slips
no i am just wondering what the dyno slips say to the ground i have a mustang also i just drive my ss because it drives nicer than my 87 351 thier is no need for you to be an *** about it. all i know is that if ford is lying about hp then it wouldnt surprise me due to the fact that when the last body style came out they lied about that hey new body style 2005 === new ford lie

RE: dyno slips
i have seen dyno slips for the manual and they are putting out around 270-280hp/290-295lb-ft torque. the automatics are supposedly losing much more power to from the flywheel to the rearwheels but i couldnt really tell you what they are putting out. motortrend did a test on the GT when it first came out and that car was an automatic. it should have the actual output in it but i am too lazy to look right now. all i know is that you camaro guys need to watch out (not trying to be a dick) but with the few mods that i have done to my car, i smoked a 99 Z28 off the line and he told me that he had about 4000 in mods but that included his vette tires and rims...who knows if he was just trying to build up his car or what but honestly i dont care...all i know is that now, our base model v8 is up to par with yalls even though it is much smaller; not to mention, our new cobra would (if they still existed) smoke the SS or the RamAir.

RE: dyno slips
a cobra has never dusted my ss,i have beat the only 2 i know of in my city. the 2003 was what 390 hp well with an ss that is a muffler and a lid and programming you need a flippin supercharger to make that much power but it is ok i will be getting the new 400 hp gto i think that makes what like another 1/4 of the hp a 2005 gt makes.. chevy can make power ford knows how to make parts cheap thats why the chevy is not back yet cost efectiveness. hell the motor alone in my ss is listed as 6000$ but hey if ford keeps wanting to make the new gt i will continue to put ponies to the pasture....I am a chevy/ford guy i have both a stang and a camaro i built the stang and bought the ss My 87 351 will kick the dirt out of my ss but race gas is pricey whats the ram air??? you talking about a ws6 i will somehow find a dyno run of the gt

RE: dyno slips
i think he is talking about this monster. not the 03/04. i don't think you will put this pony out to pasture any time soon unless you your self invest in a little forced induction. or you sattle up a pony of your own. just a thought i don't know what you have in either of your cars so i guess i shouldn't speculate but my money is on the serpent

RE: dyno slips
Wow, raced about a dozen '05 and all of them lose by at least 3 car lenghts. Are you sure you are racing GTs? Only 2 Cobras in your city but you already raced a dozen '05s?
IMO this guy is full of $hi7.
