Personally, I've never had an issue with Blue Oval, everything I've bought from them has been 100%
I'll continue to order stuff from them (ordered my Detail Corral today as a matter of fact)

Me too, except I will put things on hold because of those rotors. I know they were used, but if they were sold in that condition, that was just wrong.

Have any of you been to Blue Oval Industries shop in Elkton, VA???

I have.

I first found them on in the internet and saw that they were based out of my old hometown. So the next time I went to visit my bro, I stopped in. Didn't buy anything the first time, but they let me take some parts out to my car to see what they would look like. Several of them came out to check out my ride.

The next time I visited, I had already traded my 4.0 for my current ride. Bought about 300 bucks worth of stuff from them, no probs. After the transaction, the guy asked me if I went to so and so high school, and I did. Turns out this guy graduated from high school with me and remembered me. I'd have a better chance of pissing out a fire than remembering him.

These guys are a hometown kind of operation. Good old boys in the south in a small town that like are gear heads. The only thing to do when I was growing up in Elkton on Friday and Saturday nights was to cruise the "strip" before they outlawed it. If you didn't have a jacked up pickup truck, a 5.0 mustang, or a F-body, you were out of place. (At the time I had a Camaro and my buddies and I all had CB's in them.)

I like BOI and would gladly buy from them again. No matter what company you run, no matter where you are, you're never gonna make everyone happy, no matter how hard you try.

Well,in my opinion (having never ordered anything from Blue Oval), I think Blue Oval comes out looking really bad. There are way too many vendors selling parts to our cars to have to deal with a situation like this. I, for one, will not order from them.
best post of the whole thread

there are plenty of places that will gladly take my money

All i care to say is that when im dealing with a vendor, i expect them to be polite, well-mannered, and willing to help. BOI didn't really leave any impression of that, especially coming to the forum and posting private communication between a potential buyer and seller and feeling the need to defend themselves. As a corporation, it makes them look childish IMO whatever the case and the facts may be.A simple 'yes' or 'no' from BOI and a response to his orginal question would have been the approiateresponse.

Parts for our cars are expensive and there are plenty of vendors out there. It seems like the compaines i keep returning to are the ones that go above and beyond with their customer service (American Muscle, Stage 3 motorsports, wheelskin.com).

I have read all the comments posted here and there is alot of good advice and have taken them to heart. But since I seem to be one of the key people involved in this discusion I would just like to say one more thing then I hope we can all move on. I'm a crustie old man that types with one finger and I'm lost without spell check. So my emails are short andto the point. The email posted here from me to BOI was just 1 of three. The second and third emails apologized for my tone in the first email and further explaned why I was "gun shy" of ordering both on eBay and from the U.S. Not totaly because of sellers not shipping what I've bought and paid for but because when items are shipped via USPS it takes 6 to 8 weeks to get over the boarder through Canada Customs. As well as sending 2 follow up emails I called and spoke to John directly who through all of my attemps did not change his tone and showed no co-operation. Not wanting to give up I proceded to buy the exhust from BOI (I know I was stupid) When I paid for the exhust by PayPal the transaction was reversed by BOI. At that point I gave up and bought the exhust from another company. I even drove 8 hours down to Ontario,New York State to pick them up from the company I ended up buying from. If this had been the end of it I would have just "let go" but they reported to eBay that I bought an item from them and refused to pay. I still have that mark against me. Now I believe that BOI isnot a bad company and when I read that it's run buy a group of small town "good old boys" I like that. I believe that the problem if you can call it that is John. Now I've never met him and maybe face to face he's a good guyBut from my experience and others it would seem he need some training in customerservice before he does some real damage to BOI. I have nothing against the guy I think he just needs some training. That's all my finger is getting sore HAHA

OK, that swayed me. I hate it when folks only tell half the story and manipulate wording to smear people. BOI is NOT a company I will be dealing with. Thanks for your discription of the transaction or lack there of. It was low of them to do you that way on ebay.

That takes us back to post #55 I made...
Onepricklet is screwing it up for the rest of the company.
If such company doesn't shape up around that, then it becomes a nest of losers.

Yeah, I should have added in my post that in almost every company there's bound to be one dumbass that could end up making the whole organization look bad.
