Even if Blue Oval wasn't to blame for this, it still shines a negative light on them.

From reading this, I'll probably never order from them.

Go out and have a great time with the mustang hobby and use the forums for the way they were intend. To help each other out.
And what is it we're trying do do here, on this thread?[&:]
Not helping each other out?

Don't care, don'thave a dog in this fight... There is always 2 sides of the story, that's a given, but the scales always tip one way or the other.
So far, It seems to be more negative towards you guys.[8D]
Well, Pascal, noted scientist and observer of scales, let me try my hand at helping out others, and solicit your evaluation with regard to the customer (me) - seller (newtakeoff) in this transaction:

Nutshell, I "won" a package on eBay, 120-something plus shippng of 45 or so. Very fast delivery from their Los Angeles area branch. They sent OK calipers and brackets, RUSTY V6 DISKS. I complained, then very quickly they sent another pair of disks, GT this time, but RUSTY AND SCORED, obviously not the 5-mile-old disks they described. I complained, they said they'd send a good set from Fort Wayne, but never did, and stopped acknowledging my communications when the eBay resolution period ran out. I let them take advantage of my patience, but they still look like thieves to me.

See the evidence at:

I'd stlll like those good disks, but I'm not going to pay for them twice.

The bottom line isthis all can be summed up as "caveat emptor or buyer beware!".

Damn, looks like those been sitting out in a shed soaking in a bucket of salt water. I may change my mind on these guys if your story pans out.

It's a shame...
It doesn't really mean that this company is worthless.

Remember, all you need isONE @sshole to at the wrong spot and everything is screwed upfrom there.
How many times doyou see this in the corporate world?

Anyways,I hope for them that they put more effort in that customer service[8D].
I'll pay a few bucks more with a company that doesn't p#sses me off.

I think we need to separate Gilligan's case from Mamba's. From what's available in this thread, Gilligan was hostile from the get-go. The reason for the rudeness is immaterial - Gilligan needs to either let go of previous bad internet experiences or quit buying online. His blood pressure will thank him a few years down the road.

Mamba mis-interpreted Blue Oval's rather direct answer. If you read just the text in
Dear blueovalindustries,

Who is the manufacturer of these. Are these JDM? What is the part number?
- chsmith1112

Here was our response (Blue Oval Industries)

A MUSTANG HEADLIGHTCANNOTBE PART OF THE JAPENESSE DOMESTIC MARKET. They are neither made or sold in Japan.
there isn't anything that deserves response in flames. Yes, the replyis worded a bit bluntly. But it did answer the question as to whether they were JDM or not. Perhaps the other questions should have been asked and answered before a bid was submitted, or repeated in a further e-mail.

BUT . . . Blue Oval could have taken the high road here (but didn't). Although you are entitled to present your side, it was not necessary to provide exact text from what was and should remainprivate correspondence. A paraphrase or simple summary with at most some hint that the correspondence wasn't "work-safe" or PG-rated in its entirety would have been enough. I fear that the way it's gonehas only served to harden a few more people in their positions, and your company may end up being the ultimate victim via lost sales.

Everybody involved here needs learn how to step back and read what they've written before hitting the 'Send' button. E-mails involving online purchases are NOT the same as posts in the Off-Topic forum and shouldn't be written that way, at least not in the early going. It's a business deal, same as buying the same part face to face across a Ford parts counter, and deserves the same respect from both parties. I know itcan be harder from behind the keyboard, since there is no "tone of voice" or body language clues to help provide the proper interpretation of the actual words. And I know that many (most?) people don't bother to edit what they write on any regular basis. Take a deep breath, and try to read it back to yourself as if somebody else sent you the exact same words.

Norm
I agree with you 100%. I also understand that it is hard dealing in customer service. (having been in sales before I was in the military) You can't please everyone but the trick is to keep them coming back even after you screwed up.

not sure it's going to change anyone's opinions, but I had a very pleasant experience with BlueOvalIndustries. I bought my pypes violator exhaust from them on ebay, paid, and received it promptly without issue. I'll certainly buy from them again.

Keep in mind, you never hear about the hundreds and thousands of smooth transactions, only the 2 or 3 bad ones.

Very true. You have to admit, those rotors were pretty bad.

I would not deal with either of these guys (Black mombo or Gilligan)if they communicated to me that way.

My son bused tables last summer. First job ever. He saw the good and bad side of humans. He found out that some folks would come in there and try to ruin another person's day just because they were bad people. Others went out of their way to show gratitude. My point is, maybe those involved were having a bad day, and maybe they are like that all the time. Nobody knows for sure except themselves, but it is plain that mistakes were made by all parties.
