Anyone like this idea?

I don't think people should label a car as something it's not (GT badges, Shelby badges, Cobra badges, etc.)
I think it's kind of equivalent to someone in the military wearing medals they aren't entitled to because it looks better.

What a dumb idea, making your car look like something that it isn't.
If that's what you want to make it look like then Go for it man! The only people who will give you any crap will mostly be Mustang owners.

I kinda see what you're saying about wanting it to look cool... How about putting SVT logos on it? SVT still has a good reputation, they made the previous cobras as well as the new Shelbys. I don't see anything wrong with it. It's not like there's an "SVT edition" S197. If they know what SVT is, cool, good for them, they'll appreciate it. But it doesn't say "Hey, look at me!" either. I highly doubt anyone will challenge you in the parking lot for it.

So lets change the topic from a cobra, to a SVT based S197 stang? What would yall's opinion on that be?
same principal applies, the GT500 is esentially the last SVT vehicle to be produce.....how bout you stick with your GT badges and find some other mods (side scoops, spoiler, bumper etc) to make your ride YOURS....
why not come up with your own, custom badging?
I mean, there are guys with the transformer thingies, there are guys without badging, guys who have changed existing badging (I really liked the silver and orange tri-bar that a GO guy did up..cool) There are other false gas cap type badges you could use too with letters or designs on them, vinyl decals and scripts.... That wil turn as many heads as a Cobra badge

The other side to rebadging your car is that you're also saying you don't want people to know your ride is a GT/6er or whatever. That's the most dissapointing thing. Somebody already said it, you'll be fielding questions and comments from others about your "Cobra". How you going to answer those people? You'll get a sinking feeling every single time you look into those peoples eyes and utter the immortal line - "No, it's just an emblem i bought off Ebay"
Mod it,but you car will always be what it was when it left the factory, try to be more comfortable with that.
