I'm not just saying this to 'defend my offset' [8D] but everyone whos seen it in person tends to agree that when your standing there looking at the car, which is about 5x the size of the average computer monitor, your eyes aren't drawn to the skinnier tires like they are when you see the whole car scaled down in a 600 pixel image.

I'll look into how wide I can make the rears while keeping 8" width.

Thanks guys

I hope your laws are different there, but here in CA you'd get a ticket for having the tires sticking that far out from the body! That's the most I've seen on the S197.

But I guess the handling should be better...
The People's Republic of California? I'd have a wreck if I had to drive out there. I was in SoCal over Christmas, and the driving habits and roads are so different out there....not to mention the fact that PEDESTRIANS, not cars, have the right of way. That's crazy!

Ya, My wife is aCali girl. It took her a year get use to the driving habbits of the east coast. She thought us North Carolina folks drove like nuts until the New Jersey tourist started their yearly migration to the Outer Banks.
Back to the topic, Nel your rims look good.
Cool! My gf is a Cali girl. I think I'll make her an NC girl in the near future though.

I think the style of our cars kind of begs for the tires to stick out a little or at least be even with the fenders. Your car reminds me a little of 5.0L fox body stangs I see around here. They seem to have a wide stance.

Now...if our cars had a more sweeping looking rear and "hips", the tucked in look would look more natural.

Like this.... (I don't know what kind of car this is)

BTW.....thanks for the compliments on my stang.

I agree with what your saying about the 'hip'

Personally, I'm glad our cars don't have that, but since they don't I couldn't agree more

Your tires are still on backwards

Glad you are happy with it, I was worried you, yourself would be disapointed.
I have seen the wrong offset installed on a S197, simular to yours, and did not like it in person.

I think the factory offset is too far in, for what it's worth. I think 24mm or 30mm is probably perfect.

Guess you've gotta bring it to some cruise-in's this spring so I can check it out. Or the track.
