i'm sort of confused by it too, i think he might mean police cars usually have two different colors on the car usually but i could be wrong.
as to the OP, i plan on going with 20%, my dad thinks i should go darker, if i can convince him to pay for the re-tint if i get too many tickets i'll go 15% but i'll probably end up with 20%. My friend has 35% on his silver monte carlo and it's not dark at all, i didnt notice a difference at all.

I have 20% on driver/pass windows and 10% on quarter and back glass. It's perfect. The back glass is dark enough that I don't worry about carlights glaring anymore at night. Just last week for the first time I had to roll down my driver window at night because I couldn't see the turnoff that I knew was there. I'm only under the legal limit in my state by 5% so cops don't give me a second glance. I think it also makes a difference that I have the moonroof so there's always light shining inside my car from above during the day...my tint is deceptively light when that happens.
