Default Engine Start Button

I know this has been posted before and I did use the search function multiple times. I did not find the specifics I was looking for. I am about to order the S2000 engine start button off ebay. What else do I need to install? Just a fuse wire from autozone? I am looking for instructions on a self install for the S2000 button configuration. Thanks is advance guys!

do you have to have the key in the ignition for the start button to work?

Yes, the key does have to be placed in the key ignition and turned to the "on" position in order for the Push Button Start to turn the vehicle on. Its primarily a security feature preventing the car from starting solely with the button and no key. Depending on how you set up the wiring, you can wire the push button so that it is the only method of ignition or so that both the key and push button may start the car.

I really dont want this thread to turn into a flame war as all the other engine start button threads do. Bottom line, I think it looks 10000% better than the little black plug and I figure why not give it a purpose? So please keep this thread on track.

I like that one but it is $100! I am buying the S2000 one off of Ebay for like 24.99 + whatever the fuse costs.

How hard is it to install? Like less than 1 hour? I have been looking at it. And I agree, the power plug was a bad decision to put it on top of the stereo.
