Default RE: Quick LCA Question

I guess I'll just get the LCAs and no brackets, see what happens. Worst that can happen, I'll have to install the brackets.

I'll be making about 305 rwhp here shortly, so I think I'll be okay with just the LCAs.

lol you never mentioned the wheel hop issue, unless i missed it [&:]The BMR relocation brackets connect to the where the stock lower control arm is bolted in. I always thought that they were just there for lowered cars. I guess they can stop wheel hop also. I'm getting mine welded shortly for reinforced strength when at the track. Not sure if they will help you with wheel hop though
I didn't think I needed to mention they were for a wheel hop issue since that's their primary purpose ... LOL

You'll be fine without the brackets unless you lower over 1". In fact, I just took my BMR brackets off the other day, still no wheel hop to speak of. I mean, I still got wheel spin, but no hop.

Why did you take off the brackets?

It was recommended to me by F1Fan due to the tendency for oversteer and the fact that they weren't needed with my modest drop. The ride is definitely better. From the pic (when they were on)you can see, when using the upper hole, the LCA'a werenearly parallel to the ground anyway. The angle of the LCA, when in the upper hole, was exactly opposite to the angle they had in the stock location. In other words, the LCA axle mount would need to be in the exact middle betweeen the upper hole and the stock location to be parallel to the ground.

With the angle being this slight, they weren't really helping traction and just added one more pivot point to the axle. I'm glad I didn't weld them on. Now in the future, if I find Ican't get traction at the track with my DR's (doubt) I can alway's put them back onusing the lower hole, but I don't see that happening because I've seen guys with more power then me hook on my MT's without the need for brackets.

I have the J&M HotPart LCA's and have been very pleased with them. Quiet, no increased NVH that I've noticed and the rear end feels "tighter" and the car handles better. I went right from installing them to the track and was able to hook up much better averaging quicker 60' with them.

Thanks for all of your help. You've got the Roush springs, right? I'm going to be going with the same set-up so I guess I don't need them at all.
