soundproofing doors

RE: soundproofing doors
Did you only use the damplifier? I have a slight gear whine and wondering if doing the back seat area and trunk would help

I'm done. I only did the inside of the outer skin because the inner sheet metal just doesn't have a lot of area. I also did the whole trunk (not the lid) and under the back seats.
BIG difference. The stereo sounds much better and there the car is much quieter.
Only problem, I can't hear my mufflers anymore.
Not that hard to do the doors panels. Just do a search. Leave the windows up so you can access the outer skin. Pull up the bottom half of the moisture barrier and you will be able to do the whole door.

Hey Fairlane, a good tool to remove the screw cover behind the door handle is one of those paint can top removers. They have a little curved end that willgrab the front part of that piece and pry it out. A regular screwdrive won't grab it.
When all of the screws are out, the lift the door both up and out.
Should only take you about one hour per door.

Shapman...I only used Damplifier. I am certain this will help you. I noticed much more difference just doing the trunk and seats than the doors.
I think it must be true that the spare tire well acts like a giant speaker, even if the spare is in it.
I wouldn't get to **** about covering every inch. Just cover all raised areas with various sized squares, and dont worry about the valleys. That will give you about 95% coverage (plenty). It's the
