I hit 160 In my 02 SS that bitch will move out nothing like my gt, but it sure was fun there was know one on the road at 2 in the morning so i figured what the hell. my gt dosent want to go muc more over 135, the SS with keep going at high end

 

Even if there is a slim chance that you can go that fast, please don't take a picture while you are driving that fast. You need to pay attention 100% to the road. I don't care if you kill yourself going that fast, but I do care about the people you take with you.

 

I don't believe 160 because your speedometer stops at 145! I do think with a long enough road it'll do 160, but DAMN!

I found a long stretch of road, It started out as a race against a Prowler.

After loosing him around 120ish (5+ car lengths) I decided to see how fast my new car can go. I kept it in 4th all the way to 6,000 and 145 MPH.

I shifted to 5th and the tachometer kept going maybe 100 or 200 more RPM's before I figured I couldn't brag to anyone about what speed I was going because I ran out of numbers on my speedometer!

BTW, it was great fun. but i'm NEVER DOING THAT AGAIN!

My mustang is 100% stock and 3K miles.

 

its been a while ago, but I do recall reading the GT was limited to 149 MPH electronically. Calculated gear ratio/rpm and recall 142mph in 4th @6250 redline, think it would be 209 in 5th(if car had power to pull redline- which it dont, and would probably blow off the road before then anyway) Halfway expect someone with a vortech to take one out on the saltflats this year for bragging rights...sounds like from what were reading here though hood would be long gone-

HOOD LIFTING QUESTION- Ive heard mentioned a lot, but what lifts? front corners spring up, rear hinges spring up, or middle springing up? thanks for any info-

 

All I know for sure is that cars looked like they were ACTUALLY standing still... and If I was caught, Probably straight to jail and a revoked licnese.

The mustang did feel quite natual at that speed, stressed but natual.
