Default Wheel Spacers---installed

I finally got around to installing my wheel spacers....well....half of them. I did the rear this afternoon. I got "The Works 5/8 in" kit from www.mustangwheelspacers.com http://www.mustangwheelspacers.com/i...&ProdID=34

I am running 18x8.5 (50mm offset) silver bullitts with 255/45/18 all around. The spacers made a huge difference in the looks of the wheels. Finally got rid of the extremely tucked-in look....in the rear. I plan to do the front on Monday or Tuesday depending on the weather (no garage [&o] ).

Here are some pics.

After (front)

After (rear)

The installation of the rear wheel studs and spacers was a breeze (thanks to WD-40 ), but I'm wondering how I'm going to get the front studs on. I'm going to have to find a way to keep the hub from spinning while I tighten the stud installation nut to get them seated. I guess I can use a short 2x4 to wedge between two existing studs and the ground. I'll figure that out on Monday or whenever I get to it.
The rear brakes were a breeze to remove. Just loosen two bolts and slide the caliper off the rotor. I'm hoping the front is just as easy.

Using the 5/8" spacer is equivalent to adding a negative 16mm to the offset, so I'm now running about 34mm of offset on my bullitts.

I like the new look!

Also, here's a little video I made after I was done. The weird sound when I'm shifting to second in the first run is the rev limiter catching me just as I'm shifting. Oops!

The stance in the rear is much better! The fronts should not be too hard and post up the after pics when you get them installed. Congrats....looks much better IMO.... J

They ARE 255/45's! I don't know why, but they always look skinnier with my camera.
Actually I'm thinking 275/45 when these are worn out.

The Fronts are a pain in the *** if you dont have air tools.. Dont take them all off because you wont have anything to hold on to when you tighten them....... I found out the hard way on the drivers side.. The passenger side were easy beacuse I used my air tools.. That was a breeze...

GOOD LUCK

Take some 3/4 pictures of your car, don't be artistic. It's difficult to tell just by side photos as there is no third dimension to them, it's a profile.

I know, my 285/40's look skinnier in pics.

I would go with a 275/45 on th 8.5" but thats just me.

I wouldn't go with 275/40 on 8.5's because the sidewall is shorter, but I think it will be ok with the 275/45 since the taller sidewall will take away the sharpness of the width difference between an 8.5" rim and a 10.8" wide tire.
