automatic lovers take notice!
I bought my auto 07 GT back in October. I got an auto so my wife could drive it but she has never been behind the wheel. lol No complaints I like it. I imagine its only going to grt better when I get a CAI and tune.

Not dissing Autos...but it really depends on the driver. A not-so-good manual driver has no chance against the Auto for sure. But a bad-a$$ manual driver could surely take lead over the auto if he knows his stuff
Either way...these S197 Autos are tough to compete now...very impressive. I never wanted an Auto Mustang until I drove the new S197 Auto, I was impressed and shock at the consistant shift speeds!!!

depends on the tune also... so it brings it down to same mods (including tune) then the auto could stand a chance against a decent driver
I saw the 427R with automatic being tested for Hot Rod magazine. It was at Lapeer Dragway, not the best prepped track in Michigan and we were a little surprised at the 13.2 - it wasn't running as quick as we expected given the HP rating, but a very nice car although pretty pricey. Maybe a little better track, or a few more miles on the car, would have helped.

In the quarter mile an auto will usually be faster anyway. Especially compared to the stock, lunky manual shifter.

Just got the may issue of MM&FF and lo and behold there on the cover is a new roush 427R w/ auto tranny! seems roush is now offering the stage 3 427Rwith the 5r55s due to customer demand. it now pushes 435 hp /400 ft lbs tq with only 5 lbs of boost! MM&FF ran a best of 12.20 et at 109mph ( GT500 territory i believeW/less hp ) not too shabby for an auto
